Tinker was Britain's first tree house for overnight stays; most agree that the original is still the best! The enchanting Tinker treehouse is on the edge of the wood with mellow lake views from the balcony. Inside the octagonal interior, ivy winds up three ash trees growing up amongst the retro furniture. There are reclaimed Georgian windows set into each of the eight sides that let light flood in and the eyes gaze out. Tinker is perfect for a romantic hideaway or it can be booked with Thatcher's Corner Bell tents to create your own minicamp.
The Tinkers balcony offers plenty of private space in the trees to sit and watch the sun pass over the rolling meadow views. At night you can spark up the wood burner, pop the kettle on or BBQ on your balcony and watch the stars dance through the sky. You'll be cozy and warm as Tinker is insulated and comes with hot water bottles and spare blankets for chillier evenings.
We can provide you with hampers and ready cooked meals for hassle free feasting and you have your own large cool box to help keep the wine chilled with plenty of cookware & crockery to go round. Go down to the fully equipped Garden Kitchen for a wood fired pizza or use the free Wi-fi. Our quirky outdoor bathroom is perfect for a hot shower and a freshen-up.
“This is my second visit and I know I’ll be back again. So relaxing – waking up to the sounds of the birds and falling asleep to the crackling of the fire. Tinker Tree House is really special. I enjoyed rowing out on the lake in the sun, preparing food in the lovely garden kitchen (the hampers were brilliant) and eating breakfast with a friendly robin. Thank you so much!” Stephanie
Bring your pampered pooches for a treehouse getaway! We are thrilled to say well behaved canine best friends are more than welcome, as long as the poop is scooped and they don't get too cosy on the beds. There is just a £25 fee for each fluffy friend to cover the specialist allergen cleaning once you have bounded off into the sunset after your stay.
Take a stroll around the garden, row a boat down the lake, or gaze up at the stars and toast marshmallows around the huge camp fire. We are near the beach and countless other exciting local attractions. Have a look at our activities menu to see how you can spoil, entertain or even edify yourself and your friends.

"Amazing!!! Took my bf for his 40th birthday. I wanted something different, romantic and peaceful. First time we have been away without the children in twenty one years and we loved every minute. Definitely considering bringing the children next year. Well worth the money, such a charming and beautiful place. Thank you so much"
"Stunning place with fantastic homely tree houses that were so homely. Loved the individual bathrooms. Fantastic facilities in an iydillic location. Staff really helpful and our dog loved it too...lovely walks and river."

"We had a lovely time in Tinker tree House. Despite the weather being frosty, we kept warm with the fire. Almost mastered the rowing boats under the watchful eyes of the resident swans.

“We stayed here for a little honeymoon break after our wedding, and we were really lucky to have the place to ourselves between two large parties coming and going! We stayed in the Tinker Tree House which was very cosy and romantic, with a fully kitted out gas BBQ on the landing. The outside kitchen was really a joy to use (probably better than our one at home!) and the restroom/showers were absolutely great too. We took a boat out one day on the lake and that was a lot of fun too. The surrounding area is so easy to get lost on the roads you will want to have a sat nav with you, although that is hardly a criticism on the venue, just a word of advice!”
"We have had the most wonderful relaxing 'mini-moon' in Tinker Tree House - just what we needed after a hectic few weeks! We've loved waking up to the sounds of the birds, sheep and adorable lambs. The treehouse and whole site are beautifully decked out with everything we have needed. Thank you for making us welcome - we will definitely be back!"
