Tinker is the perfect hideaway for a romantic tree house retreat. A living ash tree continues to grow inside, with ivy winding up its trunk next to the cosy double bed. The reclaimed Georgian windows let speckled light shine in through the trees and the log-burning stove illuminates the room with a warm glow as you snuggle up at night. There's also an electric heated, hot water bottles and extra blankets for added cosiness.
There's a kitchenette for brewing your morning coffee amidst the birdsong, and you can enjoy your meals in glamping style at the nearby Garden Kitchen. You can also fire up the gas BBQ on your private tree top terrace.
For a steaming hot shower, its a short walk to the Garden Washroom where you can enjoy the luxury of underfloor heating.
You'll find all the equipment you need to cook a delicious meal in our Garden Kitchen, along with a wood fired pizza oven and communal campfire for a chat with your fellow glampers.
Our holidays are dog friendly! Well behaved dogs are most welcome to join you on your Tree House adventure. Please make sure poop is scooped and they don't get too cosy on the beds. There is a £25 fee for each fluffy friend to cover the specialist allergen cleaning after your stay.
Take a stroll around the garden, row a boat down the lake, or gaze up at the stars and toast marshmallows around the huge camp fire. We are near the beach and countless other exciting local attractions. Have a look at our activities menu to see how you can spoil, entertain or even edify yourself and your friends.
When you stay at West Lexham you are part of something bigger than simply an eco holiday. It is an exploration of living in and re-acquainting ourselves with nature. An open hearted approach, turning sustainability into thriveabilty as we experience how wonderful life can be. More about us.
"What a wonderful place! We loved Tinker tree house and the whole site is beautiful and so relaxing. We loved the garden kitchen. Sprocket loved living in the woods for a few days! Hope to be back soon for longer!"

"Amazing!!! Took my bf for his 40th birthday. I wanted something different, romantic and peaceful. First time we have been away without the children in twenty one years and we loved every minute. Definitely considering bringing the children next year. Well worth the money, such a charming and beautiful place. Thank you so much"
"Stunning place with fantastic homely tree houses that were so homely. Loved the individual bathrooms. Fantastic facilities in an iydillic location. Staff really helpful and our dog loved it too...lovely walks and river."
“This is my second visit and I know I’ll be back again. So relaxing – waking up to the sounds of the birds and falling asleep to the crackling of the fire. Tinker Tree House is really special. I enjoyed rowing out on the lake in the sun, preparing food in the lovely garden kitchen (the hampers were brilliant) and eating breakfast with a friendly robin. Thank you so much!”
"We had a lovely time in Tinker tree House. Despite the weather being frosty, we kept warm with the fire. Almost mastered the rowing boats under the watchful eyes of the resident swans.

“We stayed here for a little honeymoon break after our wedding, and we were really lucky to have the place to ourselves between two large parties coming and going! We stayed in the Tinker Tree House which was very cosy and romantic, with a fully kitted out gas BBQ on the landing. The outside kitchen was really a joy to use (probably better than our one at home!) and the restroom/showers were absolutely great too. We took a boat out one day on the lake and that was a lot of fun too. The surrounding area is so easy to get lost on the roads you will want to have a sat nav with you, although that is hardly a criticism on the venue, just a word of advice!”
"We have had the most wonderful relaxing 'mini-moon' in Tinker Tree House - just what we needed after a hectic few weeks! We've loved waking up to the sounds of the birds, sheep and adorable lambs. The treehouse and whole site are beautifully decked out with everything we have needed. Thank you for making us welcome - we will definitely be back!"
