Friday 20th March – Sunday 22nd March 2020
I’ve been practising yoga for over 20 years, it’s my coping mechanism and my sanity. I link my practice heavily to the turning of the wheel and the changing of the seasons, sharing the magic that Mother Earth naturally provides and incorporating it into my practice and sharing that magic. My absolute favourite workshops and times to practice are around the solstices, equinoxes and other pagan days of the calendar such as Lammas and Samhain, practising around beautiful mandalas which I create from all that is in season and abundant at that time, spring flowers, grasses and shoots in Spring, pine cones, apples, mushrooms and golden leaves in Autumn all interspersed with candles and crystals to look and smell gorgeous. I work closely with the elements & chakras throughout my practice, link to the lunar phases, incorporate seasonal oils which I hand blend and draw on the divine feminine shakti energy and incorporate goddess inspired vinyasa flows. I love turning my focus inwards, invoking my lunar, feminine energy for an evening, candlelit yin practice and harnessing my yang, solar, outward facing, dynamic energy for a morning flow. I am an eternal student, forever learning but always enjoying the journey which fills me with deep joy and happiness. I’m currently fascinated by healing and sacred sound.
About the retreat
Spring is an opportunity for renewal and rebirth, for planting seeds to nurture and to witness the unending cycle of growth and change. Honoured for thousands of years the Spring Equinox is a celebration of life and fertility, a time for striking a balance and to welcome back the light. Winter is over and with the turning of the wheel and the changing of the season once more, Spring is a time when things begin to emerge, seedlings pop up out of moist soil, insect and animals awake from a dormant state. Spring is a time to celebrate new life, new beginnings and to get back out into nature and Mother Earth and I couldn’t think of a more beautiful setting to achieve this
We will spend the weekend working through the elements within our yoga practice combined with harnessing the natural energy at that time of year and all around us in such beautiful surroundings.
Arrival will be at 4pm on the Friday giving you time to unpack, relax, tour the beautiful grounds and space that we will enjoy over the weekend, get to meet each other before we begin our gorgeous weekend practice. The evening will start with a 90 minute Earth based yin yoga practice, flowing into a serene 30 minute meditation, planting our seeds of intention for the coming season. Candlelit dinner for us all will follow in our own beautiful dining area, giving us time to reflect, kick back and unwind.
Saturday will see us welcome the day with a 2 hour water flow yang practice, letting go of that which no longer serves us as Winter ends, followed by a delicious, fresh, plant based brunch. The rest of the day will be yours to relax, read, journal, explore the grounds, go for a swim, a long walk, check out the beautiful local area, maybe have lunch at one of a number of lovely, old, local pubs full of character and great food. Later we will meet back in our beautiful barn for a 90 minute yin practice, manifesting our intentions for the next season, growing our seeds for our hopes, dreams and wishes in the next cycle of the wheel turning. We will follow our practice with a fire pit ceremony. Dinner will be served in our own beautiful dining space where we can switch off and relax with each other.
Sunday will open with an uplifting, energising 2 hour air based yang flow, opening our hearts to the joy of Spring all around us and the new season. Brunch will be served afterwards before some free time to absorb all the gorgeous feels you will have created for yourself. We will close with a beautiful yin based 60 minute practice and closing circle. Departure by 4pm on the Sunday.
Think delicious, fresh, prepared on site in our own kitchen, locally sourced, vibrant, colourful, plant based food, prepared by loving, award winning chefs. Meals will include daily brunch, snacks on arrival on the Friday and Sunday afternoon, including the most gorgeous vegan cakes, infused fresh waters and teas available to help yourself throughout the weekend and dinner on the Friday and Saturday evening. You’ll be free to explore the stunning local countryside and snuggle down in a choice of great country pubs for lunch on the Saturday.
