About Phillipa

Phillipa was first introduced to Iyengar yoga over twenty four years ago by senior teacher Elizabeth Connolly. She was then lucky enough to become a regular student of John Scott (Ashtanga yoga) in 1998 it was then that yoga became her life and took her to spend the winters from 2001 to 2006 living, studying and teaching in India.

During that time she was a senior teacher at Purple Valley /Brahmani Yoga in Goa and eventually taught on their annual teacher training programs .. 

Her teaching style is based around her own experience of yoga, teaching a steady, flowing and progressive practice with an awareness on the breath linking the poses, with the vinyasa system as its foundation, but also with a very strong emphasis on technique and alignment.

In her classes there is an encouragement to developing your own self practice and an inner awareness to find lightness and ease.

For the last twelve years she has been based in London and runs regular classes Ashtanga, Dynamic and more traditional Hatha Yoga classes, workshops and retreats.

About the retreat

Here we are again for our eighth time returning to this beautiful eco-friendly country manor estate,
sustainably run on over 90% renewable energy with quirky rooms and a lovely dedicated yoga
space, not far from the North Norfolk Coast. This will be our only weekend retreat in 2020. There’s a saying “With familiarity comes ease” and yes maybe that’s true, but also it brings with it a
feeling of contentment a sense of letting go, to relax, to breathe. And that’s what this retreat is
about to visit what’s familiar within our yoga practice, yet to dive deeper and be more receptive
to what unfolds, within that practice, so to continue to benefit from our practice yet also make it more sustainable.

We will dive a little deeper with steady, creative and energising practices, pranayama and silent
sitting. You will also have the time and opportunity to ask questions about your individual
practice and to work with an experienced teacher within a relaxed countryside setting.

The food at this retreat is always a highlight. You will be served freshly prepared, delicious,
