The food at West Lexham sets us apart. We take a very flexible approach! We have a professional kitchen that produces the most magnificent gorgeous tasty menus, you can create your own menu for us to cook, or you can bring your own chef or catering team. Our kitchen can cook for small and large groups of up to 120+. All of our food is fresh, organic and locally sourced if we haven’t cropped it from our own gardens & fields.
Hampers for Glampers, BBQ, Lunch al Fresco, Candlelit Supper
Brunch at your bell tent? A picnic for the beach? Have a break from foraging in the supermarket and pre-order one of our brilliant Glamper Hampers bursting with fresh local produce ready for the frying pan, or tasty deli sandwiches prepared for your enjoyment with homemade bread and chutneys. Whatever you fancy, our caterers can come up with a bespoke hamper for you or else choose from the the breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea options on our menu.
Fancy a barbie without all the bother of burnt sausages or hours spent waiting for the coals to get hot? Our excellent local chefs can bring along BBQs and serve up either of our BBQ menus for your enjoyment on a summer's evening or for a hearty lunch. There will be an additional charge for extra chefs and catering staff depending on the size of your group.
Lunch Al Fresco & Candlelit Suppers
For a very special occasion or treat, our chefs can create a bespoke menu and serve a celebratory lunch on the lawn for loved ones, a magical candlelit meal at the shellhouse by the lake or on the terrace by the pool, or even a Champagne Brunch cooked up onsite and served to you on the treehouse verandah! To provide delicious, high quality and ethically sourced food for our guests we are working in partnership with Julie Abbs Catering who are based in our sister village of East Lexham just around the corner. We believe in sourcing locally wherever possible and building a sustainable local economy , particularly when it comes to food!
Tris from JAC has this to say about their approach to food and sourcing produce...
"Set in the heart of the West Norfolk countryside, we couldn’t be better located to take advantage of the plethora of local produce all year round. It would seem a crime to source produce from elsewhere when such a range is available right on our doorstep.
Seasonality plays a key role in our operation, keeping an ear to the ground and monitoring seasonal trends affords us the pick of some wonderfully fresh and diverse produce, and our strong links with suppliers and growers makes this even easier! As well as sourcing ingredients from local suppliers we take great pride in our own wildly organic kitchen garden which offers a wealth of treats for your table; including herbs, salads, potatoes, spring onions, edible flowers, decorative plants and much more!
Of course there is always some produce that Norfolk can’t supply, and for that the global markets are efficient and effective (I don’t see any Mangos growing in Lexham). We believe it is important to strike a balance between what is practical and what offers the best quality for you, the customer. We think we are doing a pretty good job, I hope you agree!"
