What do you do if you think you have built the ultimate treehouse? Hang up your boots? Not us! We have gone one better this time and added a wood fired kitchen; an ensuite bathroom; radiators and a covered deck to the mix.
Quercus and Tilia are sister treehouse in twin woodlands, and similar in many ways, but totally individual and unique in character. The sisters get their names from the majestic trees that surround them, Quercus is the scientific name for the impressive English Oak. She stands proud with her stunning walkway, while Tilia drawing her name from the luscious lime tree nestles among the leaves with lake views during the cooler months.
Quercus is tucked away in its own little wood. Its south facing deck is accessed across a treetop bridge where you stand eye to eye with the other residents - the birds and squirrels. The open plan, mezzanine design can sleep up to six, but can be set up as day beds for couples who want a bit of extra space.
In true West Lexham style everything, but the kitchen sink is hand made. The beds in Quercus tree house have been hewn out of green hazel to make the funkiest four posters that you will have ever seen. They can move together to make three super king sized beds or move into six twins. These can also be made up as day beds to give plenty of lounging room. Climb the rustic staircase to the mezzanine for a true adventure in lying back in the tree tops.
While we have put in a fridge, kettle and toaster we thought that if you are staying in a treehouse you really should be cooking with fire. So when you stoke up the log stove and get cosy by the fire side you can also cook on the hobs and in the full sized oven. The thermostatically controlled vintage radiators automatically turn down as the log burner heats the room to maintain the optimum temperature This is the ultimate glamping holiday experience! Enjoy your meal on the round table inside or on the covered deck looking into the canopy and watching the clouds roll by. The kitchen is fully equipped all the pans, crockery, cutlery, implements, glasses and mugs that you could need. So with a piping hot shower, loo and wash basin complete with towels, you will wonder how you could better this rural holiday and if you ever need to leave!
Fire up the stove and get together for a meal. Get creative with the ingredients in one of our hampers or put your feet up with a ready cooked meals for hassle free feasting. You have a fridge to keep your food and drinks cool, with a freezer box for ice. Depending on your device the treehouse should have a good free Wi-fi connection.
